First!

Finally, I open a blog to practice my English writing!

Daniel said it right that I should fully use my time when I am so free in Australia these three years. I would love to have some serious work here, but the reality is that without a PR or Australian related qualification, finding a good job is extremely difficult. I should try to embrace the spare time and equip myself with more skills to prepare to go back to the job market again.

Frankly speaking, I love doing Public Relations a bit more than being a teacher. Since I have two-year public relations work experience in Taiwan but with no equivalent or related degree, I find it more difficult to find Public Relations related work in a country where its first language is my second language, not to mention that being a Public Relations practitioner needs to have certain local cultural knowledge. I took some online courses from Coursera to complement my lack of Public Relations Degree. Through these courses I found that I really love being a Public Relations practitioner though I might need to halt this path for now as the opportunity is rare here in Brisbane. I will come back to you Public Relations, my love.

Having a Master of Education in TESOL degree and an experience of teaching Chinese and English in America, I thought that I could resume to be a teacher again in Australia, but duh, I need to have teacher license here, and which means that I might need to take teacher courses that I don't think the cost and time-spending are practical for me right now.

So how about taking tests and become an interpreter/translator? At first I thought holy sh*t the fee for these tests for non-Australian resident is so expensive, but after deeper consideration, it might be a worthy investment since I have nothing to do right now. Besides, I can review English and make my English better, for excellent English is a basic skill if I want to be a Public Relations Practitioner in English-speaking countries in the future (or whatever job that I want to do in these countries). Memorizing vocabulary and reading English news, TV series or novels are interesting and useful, however, as a teacher I know that the above are inputs and I need to turn these inputs into outputs such as writing and speaking for these two are essential for communication. Therefore I decide to start the English blog.

In this blog, I will try to use five vocabulary that I just memorized and put them into an article. Yes, most of the articles here will be free writing (might be absurd articles) for I just want to use those vocabulary. If you stop by these posts, feel free to correct them, it will be greatly appreciated! I might still write something about Chinese teaching as well, since I'm a professional Chinese teacher in Pinyin and traditional Chinese! Let's see, right now I'm pretty excited of opening a new space to share anything! xoxo
